Jang Kun Lee Already Made His National Team Comeback
This isn’t Jang Kun Lee’s first appearance for the national team after his break. He had already made his comeback in June 2025 during the 1st East Asian Kabaddi Championship.
Although South Korea couldn’t win the tournament, with Japan eventually lifting the title, it marked an important return for one of the country’s most experienced kabaddi players.
Jang Kun Lee has also returned to the Pro Kabaddi League in recent seasons. He played for Patna Pirates in PKL Season 11 and later represented Bengal Warriorz in PKL Season 12. However, he didn’t get many opportunities to showcase his abilities in either season.
Can Jang Kun Lee Lead South Korea’s Revival?
All eyes will now be on Jang Kun Lee as he is expected to play the role of a strike raider for South Korea at the Asian Games. Alongside him, Dong Yun Lee, another player with valuable Pro Kabaddi League experience, will also be a key player for the team.
South Korea will be hoping for a much better campaign than they had at the 2023 Asian Games, where they failed to make a significant impact.
Many kabaddi fans still remember the days when South Korea was one of the strongest teams in Asia, especially around the 2018 Asian Games, when they consistently challenged the top nations. The hope is that the 2026 edition marks the beginning of South Korea’s revival on the international kabaddi stage.
