Tamil Thalaivas Possible Retained Players

# Elite Retained Players

(1) Moein Shafaghi

Moein Shafaghi is a talented Iranian Left Raider who has been with Tamil Thalaivas for the last two seasons. He enjoyed an impressive debut season, which is why the franchise showed faith in him once again last year.

However, he couldn’t replicate those performances in PKL Season 12, managing just 28 Raid Points in 13 matches. Although his numbers dropped, it would be unfair to judge him solely on one season. Moein still has the ability to perform at the highest level, and Tamil Thalaivas may choose to back him for another season. His retention price is also unlikely to be too high, making him a realistic retention option.

(2) Sagar Rathee

Sagar Rathee has been with Tamil Thalaivas since the early years of the franchise, and over time he has built a strong bond with the team. A quality Right Corner Defender, Sagar has consistently shown his value whenever he has been available.

The biggest concern, however, has been injuries. We saw the same issue last season, where he could play only 5 matches but still managed to score 11 Tackle Points. Injuries have become the biggest threat to his career.

The big question is whether Tamil Thalaivas will look for a new primary Right Corner defender or continue to place their trust in Sagar for another season. Considering his quality and experience, there is still a strong possibility that the franchise will retain him.

Arjun Deshwal & Pawan Sehrawat – The Big Question

Every kabaddi fan knows the quality that Arjun Deshwal and Pawan Sehrawat bring to a team. Having both star raiders in the same squad looked like a dream combination when Tamil Thalaivas successfully signed them in the previous PKL Auction. Expectations were high that their raiding unit would become one of the strongest in the league.

However, several controversies surrounded the team throughout the season, and things didn’t go as planned. Because of that, it now looks highly unlikely that Tamil Thalaivas will retain both players together. It will be interesting to see which direction the franchise takes ahead of PKL Season 13.

# Retained Young Players

(1) Narender Kandola

Narender Kandola is a talented Left Raider who is currently in the third year of his RYP contract, meaning he will automatically remain with Tamil Thalaivas for the upcoming season.

Since joining the franchise, Narender has delivered some impressive performances. However, last season saw a noticeable dip in form, as he managed only 39 total points in 10 matches, including 29 Raid Points. Despite that, he remains a quality player and will continue with the team under his RYP contract.

(2) Vishal Chahal

Vishal Chahal is a young and talented Right Raider. Unfortunately, his previous season ended before it even began, as he was ruled out due to injury and did not feature in a single match.

He now enters the second year of his RYP contract, which means he will automatically be retained by Tamil Thalaivas for PKL Season 13.

(3) Ronak Kharb

Ronak Kaab is a Right Cover Defender who has emerged as a promising young player. Last season, he scored 32 Tackle Points in 18 matches, putting together a solid campaign.

Tamil Thalaivas had signed him at his base price of ₹13 lakhs, making him an excellent value-for-money player. Since he enters the second year of his RYP contract, he will automatically remain with the franchise for the upcoming season.

(4) Nitesh Kumar

A very talented Left Corner Defender who enjoyed an exceptional PKL Season 12. He finished the campaign with 65 Tackle Points in 18 matches, establishing himself as one of the standout defenders in the league.

As he enters the second year of his RYP contract, Nitesh will automatically be retained by Tamil Thalaivas for PKL Season 13. His performances last season have made him one of the franchise’s most valuable young defenders.

# Existing New Young Players

Players in this category are those who enter the second year of their two-season NYP contract. Since they were signed as NYPs last season, they will automatically remain with the franchise next season under the Existing New Young Player category.
