When Will the Next PKL Season Start?

It’s been more than seven months since PKL fans last witnessed Pro Kabaddi action on the mat. On the night of October 31, 2025, Dabang Delhi won its second PKL trophy by defeating Puneri Paltan in the Season 12 final. Since then, fans have been asking one question — when will the next season begin?
The last edition of the Pro Kabaddi League was held during the August–October window, while the player auction took place on May 31 and June 1, 2025.
Looking at that schedule, many fans expected an official announcement regarding the upcoming PKL auction by now. However, there has been no update from the organizers yet. So, what is causing the delay?
Every four years, the Asian Games take place. In the world of kabaddi, international events are limited, but one tournament always remains the biggest priority — the Asian Games. Kabaddi is a part of the Games, featuring both men’s and women’s competitions.
India has dominated the Asian Games kabaddi competition for years, but that streak was broken in 2018 when Iran clinched the gold medal. Since then, the rivalry between the two nations has become even more exciting.
The 2026 Asian Games will be held in September in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Nations like India and Iran have already started their national camps in preparation for one of the most important events in the sport.
While the league organizers are yet to make an official announcement, an important update regarding PKL Season 13 has already surfaced. According to a report by Kabaddi360, one of the most trusted kabaddi content platforms, Pro Kabaddi Season 13 is expected to begin in mid-December 2026.
The players’ auction is also likely to take place in mid-October 2026.
This follows a similar timeline to the previous Asian Games cycle in 2023. Back then, Pro Kabaddi Season 10 was held from December 2023 to March 2024, while the player auction took place on October 9 and 10, 2023.
So yes, the wait is still a little longer, but PKL Season 13 is slowly getting closer. Before that, fans can look forward to plenty of international kabaddi action, followed by the much-awaited player auction and then the return of the league.
