The kabaddi competition at the 2026 Asian Games is scheduled to take place from September 21 to September 26 in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. Many nations have already begun their national camps in preparation for this mega tournament.
Team India, the favourites to win gold in both the men’s and women’s kabaddi events, have also started their preparation camp.
In late March 2026, the All India Kabaddi Federation (AKFI) announced a 45-player squad for the first national training camp. Following the conclusion of that camp, AKFI recently shortlisted 29 players from the original 45 for the second training camp.
The second training camp is scheduled to be held from June 8, 2026. From this camp, India is expected to finalize the 12-member squad that will travel to Japan for the 20th Asian Games.
